Position Overview:
The purpose of this role is to repair and maintain client’s wide fleet of motorbikes and Motorboats.
Job specification & duties include:
To carry out Motorbike/ Motorboat repairs and maintenance.
Prepare job cards and close them timely for costing purposes
Advise management on spare parts needs
Carry out any other tasks as assigned by management
Repair and adjust electrical and mechanical equipment of inboard or inboard-outboard boat engines.
Start motors and monitor performance for signs of malfunctioning, such as smoke, excessive vibration, or misfiring.
Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems.
Document inspection and test results and work performed or to be performed.
Document test results.
Mount motors to boats and operate boats at various speeds on waterways to conduct operational tests.
Position equipment using hand tools, power tools, or heavy equipment.
Repair engine mechanical equipment, such as power tilts, bilge pumps, or power take-offs.
Repair defective engines or engine components.
Perform routine engine maintenance on motorboats, such as changing oil and filters.
Replace parts, such as gears, magneto points, piston rings, or spark plugs, and reassemble engines.
Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
Idle motors and observe thermometers to determine the effectiveness of cooling systems.
Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems.
Inspect and repair or adjust propellers or propeller shafts.
Inspect mechanical components of vehicles to identify problems.
Repair defective engines or engine components.
Adjust carburetor mixtures, electrical point settings, or timing while motors are running in water-filled test tanks.
Adjust vehicle components according to specifications.
Set starter locks and align and repair steering or throttle controls, using gauges, screwdrivers, or wrenches.
Align equipment or machinery.
Repair non-engine automotive or vehicle components.
Disassemble and inspect motors to locate defective parts, using mechanic’s hand tools and gauges.
Inspect mechanical components of vehicles to identify problems.
Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
Adjust generators and replace faulty wiring, using hand tools and soldering irons.
Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Repair electrical circuits or wiring.
Repair or rework parts, using machine tools such as lathes, mills, drills, or grinders.
Repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
4 years of relevant experience e.g., automotive, motorcycles, bicycles (electric or not) ect.
Working knowledge of how bikes are assembled and repaired
Working knowledge of how to fix the electric components of a bike will be highly regarded
A passion for bikes, micro mobility, last mile logistics and/or tech
Flexibility is an absolute must, we’re a start up in every sense – things change on the daily so we’re hoping you’re able to flex outside your responsibilities, work slightly different days/ hours where required
Must have valid driver’s licence

Assemble new bikes and perform quality control checks
Repair motorbikes to the highest of standards; assessing wear and tear, accidental damage
Communicate with our customer service team to schedule customer appointments
Be customer service oriented and personable as you are the face of our company
Assist with maintaining a consistent inventory; ordering parts when necessary
Create feedback loops with the relevant stakeholders; improving and iterating on our existing processes and policies
Minimum requirements
College graduate in Auto mechanics with bias in Motor Cycles and MotorBoats
Class A riders license is mandatory
Class B driver’s license and knowledge in repairing are added advantages
Welding skills is also an added advantage
4+ years in Auto workshop
Good technical hands on approach
Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
Knowledge and understanding of mechanical processes.
An excellent communicator both written and oral
Must work with minimum supervision
A good trade test certificate from a recognized institution
