Job Description

ABOUT RESTLESS DEVELOPMENT
Young people share a restless determination to address the problems that affect them the most. That’s where we come in. At Restless Development, we’re proud to be the banner carrier for youth-led development, demonstrating from the grassroots to the global policy levels that young people can and must play a lead role in development. As a result, Restless Development is repeatedly cited as a model of best practice in youth-led development by the World Bank, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), UNICEF, UNAIDS and others.
Restless Development is a global agency for youth-led development that supports young people to demand and deliver a just and sustainable world for all. With support from GIZ, we are implementing the Young People in COVID Governance Project (YPCG). The YPCG project proposes to facilitate the dialogue between Government, local authorities and young citizens, specifically within the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic. This is to increase the transparency of duty-bearers’ decisions; have the voices of young people heard by Government and local authorities; and see young citizens, local authorities and Government working together to fight Covid-19. The project is using a youth-led approach for all its interventions whereas our strategy revolves around supporting young people to supplement local efforts for community development. Elements of our approach focus on young people leading the process through various media tools from Print, Television and Social media in order to engage a diverse range of young people.
In view of the above, Restless Development is initiating a 3 month (March 2021 to May 2021) internship placement to work with a young person who will lead implementation of activities as well as other work such as attending meetings that are necessary for the project to succeed. The intern will be required to adhere to the staff code of conduct including the safeguarding policy among other policies of the organization.
