Our client is a leading financial institution seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial accounting processes of the organization, including tax-related services.
Responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements and reports for the organization in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
Manage and reconcile bank accounts, including performing regular audits of accounts.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
Oversee the month-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
Collaborate with other departments within the organization to provide financial information and analysis to support business decisions.
Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and property tax.
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Assist with tax planning and forecasting.
Provide guidance and support to other departments on tax-related matters.
Assist with internal and external audits.

Requirements:

Level III ACCA, ZICA, CIMA; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 4 -5 years of experience in financial accounting and tax-related services.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), International financial reporting standards (IFRS), and tax laws and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with financial reporting systems and software. (working knowledge of pastel accounting package will be an added advantage)
