Book Now Zambia is a proven technology company with several rapidly growing product offerings in the Zambian Public and Private  sector with flagship products such as electronic tolling (eTolls) and electronic levies (eLevy), as well as Private Sector driven by products such as electronic fuel (eFuel). We are looking for an IT project manager on a full or part time basis.
Job Overview:
As an IT Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and overseeing various IT projects within our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of technology initiatives, from inception to completion, while adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Your leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in aligning IT projects with the organization’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Initiation:

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to determine project viability.
Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.

2. Team Leadership:

Build and lead cross-functional project teams, including developers, analysts, and technicians.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and motivation to team members to ensure project success.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities, assigning clear roles and responsibilities.

3. Project Execution:

Monitor project progress and performance against established goals and objectives.
Identify and mitigate project risks and issues promptly.
Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

4. Resource Management:

Allocate and manage resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and budget.
Coordinate with IT and HR departments for staff allocation and recruitment when necessary.

5. Stakeholder Communication:

Maintain open and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
Provide regular project updates, status reports, and issue resolutions.
Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns proactively.

6. Quality Assurance:

Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet standards.
Conduct thorough testing and validation to verify the functionality and reliability of IT systems.

7. Change Management:

Develop and execute change management plans to minimize disruptions during project implementation.
Ensure end-users are adequately trained and supported with the new technology.

8. Budget and Cost Control:

Monitor project financials and manage project budgets effectively.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure cost control measures are in place.

9. Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.
Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.

10. Standard Operating Procedure (SOPS)  and Documentation:

Develop and execute SOPs for new and existing products
Improving existing SOPs through careful analysis and planning to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
Proven experience of 5 years or more in IT project management, including successful project deliveries in large scale projects development that are heavily SOP/UI driven
Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Knowledge of relevant industry trends and emerging technologies.
