INTRODUCTION
Young Africa (YA) Zambia is a Non-Governmental Organization that provides high quality Technical and Vocational Training, Entrepreneurship and Life skills training to vulnerable youths in Zambia between the ages of 15 to 25. Young Africa Zambia aims to empower youths with skills that will enable them acquire employment or enable them to venture into business to enable them participate in economic development.
SCOPE OF WORK
The interns will work closely with the Finance and Administration Officer and the TVET Principal to assist with day-to-day programme operations. The candidate should be responsible, problem solver who is innovative and eager to learn.
SPECIFIC TASKS
i. Financial Management, documents filing, vouching, and reporting
ii. Maintain all accounting files in an orderly and systematic manner, attaching all necessary support documents
iii. Support in processing payment vouchers and proper recording of accounting information for transactional processing
iv. Follow up to staff on unretired programmeimprest
v. Work with staff to track costs for projects
vi. Support the reporting process to ensure reports are produced in a timely manner
vii. Work with finance officer to support external auditors during projects and organizational audits
Support programme staff in procurement processes
TIME SCHEDULE
The Accounts Intern will be required to work for a period of 3 months.
The Accounts Assistant Intern will be required to work for a period of 60 days.
REPORTING
The Accounts Assistant Intern will be reporting to the Finance and Administration Officer.
REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Any Full Accounting, Finance qualification with evidence of ZICA Membership
Knowledge in administrative duties and data entry (added advantage).
Computer literate (MS Office, Excel, and MS Outlook).
Good communication skills.
Independent worker and team player.
Able to work under a fast-paced environment.
Willing to learn attitude
