Description

Maintenance and repair of air-conditioning system on all mobile equipment in an effective and efficient manner in compliance with the relevant safety and environmental requirements

Equipment inspection and servicing of the air-conditioning system in a proactive maintenance and defect correction
Diagnosis and repair of the air-conditioning system including the related electrical system
Refrigerant gas evacuation and recharge during system maintenance and repair
Perform piping connections on lines and valves and repair of evaporator and condenser cores through use of hand tools for tubes, brazing, soldering and oxy-acetylene heating
Defining repair scope and parts requirement forecasting
Completion of job cards and other documentation
Compliance to the safety and environmental standards associated with handling and disposal of refrigerants

Requirements

Full Grade 12 School Certificate
Craft or Technician Certificate in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration
Refrigerant Handling Certification as required by ZEMA
Minimum 3 years work experience on surface mining equipment and other air-conditioning or refrigeration systems
