ATM CUSTODIAN (2) – LUSAKA
Reporting to the Manager – Card Operations, the purpose of this position is to ensure the availability of a fully functional Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service to customers including the custody and balancing of ATM cash, processing of ATM deposits and handling of ATM computer reports. The Custodian will also control branch ATM cash, safe custody items and duplicate keys and is expected to understand and manage the risks associated with the custody of ATM’s as well as the changes in the custody of assets through an effective system of controls.
Monitoring of cash holdings by ensuring that cash does not exceed prescribed limits, adherence to laid down procedures for handling cash and maintenance of sufficient cash levels.
1. ATM Up-time by ensuring that ATM terminals are always adequately stocked with cash and stationery
Ensure that potential faults that could cause equipment to malfunction are identified and resolved on time
Ensure that all ATM terminals are kept clean and maintained in good condition.
Maintain close liaison with Operations, Card Operations Centre and Admin to ensure that equipment problems are dealt with promptly.
2. ATM Cash Control according to laid-down instructions.
Balance cash at the required intervals
Report and action differences in ATM cash promptly
Ensure that ATM cash is safeguarded against unnecessary and preventable loss.
3. Action ATM reports as listed on the Duty List promptly, Reconcile ATM cash daily
Plan and execute regular maintenance requirements for ATM terminals, and deal with day-to-day unexpected interruptions to service in order to maximize productivity
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
First degree in any discipline
2 – 3 Years branch banking experience, with exposure to tellering and safe custody.
ATM operating and maintenance experience.
OTHER SKILLLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Good verbal communication skills required for explaining banking procedures.
Methodical, accurate and pays attention to detail.
Persistent in following instructions and completing tasks.
Results-orientated, adheres to turn-around times/deadlines.
Team player – ability to share with others.
Self-motivated and energetic
