Job Description
Purpose of the role:
The Components Controller is responsible for managing inventory of components required for maintenance, repair, and production onsite.
Reports to: Parts/Warehouse Supervisor.
Branch: Kitwe x1.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Component Controller will be required to perform the following tasks:
Inventory management
Responsible for managing inventory levels to ensure that there are sufficient quantities of parts and components on hand to meet production and maintenance schedules. This includes placing orders and maintaining accurate records of stock levels.
Stock rotation
Ensure that stock is rotated regularly to prevent obsolescence and reduce waste. This involves monitoring first in first out principles when supplying the customer to maintain the quality of the components.
Quality control
Responsible for ensuring that all components meet the established quality standards. This includes conducting inspections, verifying that all necessary information like serial number, etc are in place, and working with suppliers to address any quality issues that arise.
Reverse logistics
Communicate with suppliers on a regular basis regarding dispatching of components from site to the Reman facility to ensure complete control of the reverse supply chain.
Documentation
Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, stock counts and dispatches.
Ensure that all necessary documentation is in place, such as purchase orders and delivery notes.
Supplier management
Responsible for managing relationships with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of components.
Maintenance scheduling
Work closely with maintenance personnel to schedule the availability of components required for maintenance and repair work.
Other responsibilities as Management may delegate from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
Must have a Full Grade 12 Certificate.
Minimum of a Diploma in business administration or any related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Warehousing in a related industry

Proficient in computer skills (MS Excel and MS Word)

Strong analytical skills
