Job description:
Overall Job Purpose
Experienced QA/QC professional with strong knowledge of fabrication and welding. This role will assist Operations and Supervisors by ensuring Project and Maintenance works are carried out in accordance with OEM’s welding repair recommendation and QA/QC management accepted practices.
Key Responsibilities

Facilitate the review of work execution packages for all welding and mechanical work activities to ensure appropriate documentation included in the work pack for each job and that welding records are completed correctly and where required the development of WPS, work instructions, inspection and test plans (ITP), and forms (as required).
Ensure QC inspections are conducted as per scope of work and ITP.
Perform surveillance and inspection activities across the field maintenance fleet.
Implement and maintain quality management systems that, as a minimum, comply with the OEM procedures.
Maintain quality records and report on the performance of the Quality System to the Field Maintenance Superintendent.
Report instances of non-conformance; assist with identifying corrective and preventative actions and management of issues until resolved. Participate in the analysis of quality data, determining trends and lessons learned for the improvement of the service.
Participate in kick off, work and pre-inspection meetings, toolbox meetings, training and improvement programs as required.

Identify Work

Carry out equipment inspections and ensure corrective work is identified before it becomes a breakdown.
Ensure that sufficient information is captured to perform or plan the corrective task by using the work request and or defect notice request process
Ensure identified work is prioritized according to the potential risk to HSE & equipment availability
Discuss with the off-going or on coming crew potential safety hazards and issues, ongoing work from previous shifts, progress of the mining plans and status of work in the schedule

Perform Work

Ensure task requirements are clearly understood and all risks identified before commencing the job
Collect all required tools and equipment prior to commencing the job to promote efficient maintenance practices
Adhere to all site and company requirements for the use of permits, risk assessments, Isolations and risk management.
Test & commission the machine to ensure all maintenance activities were effective and the machine is returned in a fit for purpose condition

Record Work & Job Completion

Complete all maintenance documentation (Work orders, PM sheets, inspection sheets etc…) in full and to the required standard ensuring that all relevant information relating to the task is completed
Clean and tag components requiring repair or core return
Parts not required returned back into stock
Report broken, damaged or missing tooling
Ensure all work areas are well maintained and housekeeping standards are adhered to

Participation

Participate in on & off the job training and learning opportunities
Demonstrate interest and wiliness in all equipment and company goals
Participate and contribute to safety and improvement initiatives

Qualification & Experience

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar QA/QC Advisor – Fabrication role
Full Grade 12 certificate
Possess a recognized Trade Certificate III of Engineering – Fabrication and relevant industry experience with piping and structural steel fabrication.
Current recognized International Welding Inspector qualifications or equivalent.
Sound knowledge of applicable welding processes, code requirements and materials used in oil & gas industry.
An ability to liaise at all levels with the Client and Subcontractors and ability to work as part of a team.
Demonstrated written communication and IT skills (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Competent in reading and interpretation of fabrication drawings, WPS and ITPs.
An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
Experience and understanding of the Audit & inspection processes.
Valid Driving License.
Must be a member of EIZ.
