Job Description

Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development, and food security to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil societies. ACDI/VOCA has approximately 34 projects in 19 countries and total revenues of approximately $128 million.
Overview:
ACDI/VOCA is currently implementing a five-year program entitled “Enterprise Development and Growth Enhanced (EDGE) Activity” in Zambia funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The aim of the Zambia EDGE Activity is to increase the profitability for agricultural small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by addressing their key investment constraints on access to finance, limited business management skills and technology, and access to markets, thereby increasing SMEs’ productivity and ability to create new jobs in Zambia.
To ensure that the SMEs are adequately supported, EDGE conducted the Know Your Customer (KYC) exercise to understand their strategies and recommend what support would be required. Data was electronically collected on these aspects of the KYC exercise. For the data to be used for decision making, need has arisen to ensure that the data is entered into the EDGE database, the LEAP. Currently, data from more than 200 SMEs sits outside the database. Given the foregoing, the project needs services of a Data Entry Clerk to support migration of the said data into the L The objective of this consultancy mission is to provide support to the ACDI/VOCA MEL team to enter data from SME KYC profiles into the LEAP
Pursuant to its mission, ACDI/VOCA is seeking a short-Term consultancy for a Data Entry Clerk to work closely with the MIS/M&E Specialist. The position is based in Lusaka. The objective of this consultancy is to provide support to the ACDI/VOCA MEL team to enter data from SME KYC profiles into the LEAP
Responsibilities:
Attend a 1-day orientation of the KYC (including SME strategies) profiles and the overview of the LEAP. Data cleaning, data entry of all the SMEs’ KYC profiles into a table/spreadsheet. Creation of KYC profiles links between SharePoint and the database for easy access and references. Review data obtained from KYC for completeness and accuracy and provide a summary of gaps identified. Identify and report problems in obtaining valid data. Support the AMEL team with the consolidation and synthesizing of qualitative and quantitative data stemming from needs assessment, information session feedback, focus group discussions, learning sessions. Support the AMEL team with the upload of said data into the LEAP.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a diploma in computer science, management information systems, economics/statistics. A degree will be an added advantage.
Must be reliable and committed to fulfilling assignments with high level of professionalism.
Ability to pay attention to details
Proactive and able to follow guidance from supervisors/managers.
Previous experience working with mobile data collection technology such as Kobo collect, access, excel
Ability and willingness to accurately complete a given number of SME profiles each day
Ability to comfortably work and accurately transcribe qualitative data
Ability to apply the concept of “do no harm” to data collection.
Must be knowledgeable of ethics, practices and conduct in social research.
Highly organized, flexible, punctual and with sober behavior always when on duties.
