The INCREASE Project
The Increasing Climate Resilience in Energy & Agriculture Systems and Entrepreneurship project, initiated in January 2020 and slated for implementation until 31st December 2023, spans Eastern, Central, Lusaka, Northwestern, and Southern provinces in Zambia, targeting 11,300 smallholder farmers across cotton/legumes, dairy, and horticulture value chains. This project aims to enhance social, economic, environmental, and climate resilience and equity in agriculture and energy systems by bolstering the adaptive capacity of these systems.
The INCREASE project is structured around three primary outcomes:
1.    Improvement of the income, food, and energy security for men, women, and youth farmers.
2.    Increased business performance of the cotton, dairy, and horticulture value chains through Climate Smart (CS) investments in agriculture, water, and Renewable Energy (RE).
3.    Improved performance of the enabling environment for identifying, developing, and scaling of markets for Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), water, and RE practices (including opportunities for youth employment [OYE]).
SNV is seeking eight (8) qualified Enumerators for participation in the KAP survey. Enumerators will be responsible for collecting high-quality household data and ensuring timely upload to the SNV server.
Qualifications and Requirements
Educational qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a diploma, preferably in agriculture, demographics, statistics, or a related field, with a degree being an additional advantage.
With Prior experience and skills: Candidates should have prior experience in conducting rural agricultural surveys and be proficient in Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI).
Language proficiency: Proficiency in English and one or more of the following languages is required: Nyanja/ Chewa/ Nsenga, Tonga/ Ila/ Lenje, Bemba/Lala/Lamba, Kaonde/ Luvale/ Lunda.

Enumerators’ Code of Conduct and Ethics
Enumerators are expected to adhere to high standards of professionalism, maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information with care, and ensure the security of data. They should promptly report any issues or concerns that arise during their assignments. Enumerators are expected to adhere to SNVs ethics policies.
Field Work Plan and Timelines
Training is expected to be conducted between 7th and 11th November. Fieldwork will commence on 14th November and conclude on 9th December.
Allocation of survey areas and fieldwork logistics and support will be done prior to commencement of field work, with transportation to and from the field provided. Enumerators are responsible for organizing their own lodging and meals.
Data Management
Enumerators are expected to upload data to the server daily. In cases of erroneous or inconsistent data, it will be returned to the enumerator for correction.
Enumerator Exit Strategy
Upon completion of the survey:
Enumerators must complete at least 5 interviews per day, with verification and approval by the Data Quality and Learning Consultant.
Enumerators must take care of any devices/equipment provided by SNV and return all SNV property in good working order.
