Finance Manager job description
We are looking to hire a dynamic Finance Manager with excellent organizational and analytical skills. The Finance Manager is expected to be detail-oriented, knowledgeable on statistics, have strong problem-solving skills, and an investigative nature.
To ensure success, the Finance Manager should have a deep commercial awareness, strong numeracy skills, and a keen interest in the growth, efficiency, and profitability of the organization. Top candidates will have outstanding communication and report writing skills with superb technical ability and fantastic negotiation skill.
Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analysing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the organization.
Oversee the operations and development of the organization’s finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the organization’s finances.
Supervise the documentation of the organization’s financial status and forecasts.
Plan and implement systems for financial operations in the organization in accordance with the finance manual and donor regulations; including systems for cash flow management, budgeting, consolidation of accounting information, internal controls, financial reporting, financial record-keeping, grant management and compliance.
Prepare monthly management reports to senior management and program staff as required, including expenditures by cost center/project and other financial information, in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepare financial reports, for review by senior management, to donors in line with donor requirements and templates.
Assist in developing annual fiscal year budgets together with the Finance Officer and Admin Officer.
Continuously stay abreast with donor policies, procedures, rules and regulations; compile and update applicable local policies; train the organization staff in these policies.
Other duties as assigned by CITAMplus leadership
Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
Full professional qualification such as CA Zambia/CIMA/ ACCA.
Must be a registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
Minimum of three (5) years’ relevant post qualification experience, working in a busy finance and accounting environment.
Must possess practical skills in management and financial reporting.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
Risk management skills.
Proven results-oriented attitude.
Very good understanding and experience of financial products and performance, including credit risk, dynamics of lending, saving and insurance would be beneficial
Experience using financial software
Advanced MS Excel skills
Experience in Working with NGOs.
