The company is hiring for the position of a Fisheries Technician in Chongwe district. The Technician will be resident on the farm and will be required to:
Provide both Technical and Practical assistance in the management of Two (2) 50 by 25 ponds.
Ensure that fingerlings are fed as prescribed in feeding charts.
conduct hands on pond – rounds in ensuring that the  water quality in terms of the turbidity, PH, dissolved Oxygen levels and temperatures are within the normal range of fish.
Sample weighing of Fish to ensure that desired growth targets are being achieved.
Perform all necessary tasks required in ensuring that the production cycle is a success.
Requirements / Qualifications
Full -Grade Twelve Certificate , 5 O’level credits or better.
A Certificate/ Diploma / Degree in Fisheries / Aquaculture/ a related natural resources field.
At least 1 year HANDS ON experience in practical fisheries and or aquaculture.
Two traceable references.
The Contract is for a period of 6 months, with renewal and salary increment based on performance. Accommodation with electricity and water will be provided at the farm ideally for a single person.
