Position Overview.
Jhpiego Corporation has been in existence in Zambia since 1999. With funding support from various cooperating partners such as USAID, CDC, the US Department of Defence (DOD), and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The organization has supported the Ministry of Health in various programs, including TB/HIV, Nutrition, and the implementation of a web-based Human Resource Information System.
Global Reach II is a four-year project (2022 – 2026), funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration through the Centre for Disease Control with the objective to support Human Resources for Health Systems in Zambia. The project is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Smart Zambia, Public Service Management Division, Health Professionals Councils of Zambia (HPCZ), and Nurses & Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) to implement a web-based Human Resource Information System (HRIS). This system supports the registration and renewal of practicing licenses for regulated HealthCare Workers in Zambia.
The Help Desk Support Officer will report to the ICT Managers. S/he will be responsible for providing technical support to HRIS Users in the Ministry of Health. Working closely with the Software Development Specialists, the Officer will manage help desk systems for log-in issue tickets, and analyze and present issue logs to the Software Development team.

Support Health regulation Councils with technical processes in the ICT unit.
Implement data privacy and data security measures
Collaborate with the Software Development team in the design, development, and maintenance processes of HRIS.
Assist in coding, testing, and debugging websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies.
Support the implementation of responsive design to ensure seamless user experiences.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in web development.


Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related field.
Experience with Call Centre and Help Desk processes.
Understanding of HTML, JavaScript, PHP, and other web development languages.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and collaboration skills within a team environment
Strong communication skills (writing and oral presentation)
Up-to-date knowledge of technologies, methodologies, and technology standards and an understanding of the constraints and benefits of different technologies
Any other duties that may be assigned to you.
