Juba Transport Limited is in the transportation business of Fuel, Acid and Dry cargo within Zambia and the SADC region, is urgently looking for dynamic, highly qualified, and an experienced individual to employ as a Health, Safety & Environment Engineer reporting to the HSEQ Manager.
Job Purpose:
To ensure that all occupational health and safety standards are followed and that adherence to environmental laws is maintained for all members of staff by devising safety plans, monitoring practices to ensure compliance, write up safety policies and procedures, and respond to emergencies as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Implement and maintain health and safety standards.
Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
Review physical, biological and chemical workplace hazards
Conduct safety and environmental audits
Investigate health and safety related complaints, spills of hazardous chemicals outbreaks of disease or poisonings, and workplace accidents
Inspect workplaces to ensure that equipment, materials and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or the general public
Develop, implement and evaluate health and safety programs and strategies
Provide consultation and deliver training programs to employers and employees on issues of workplace safety and environmental protection

Qualification and Requirements:

Grade 12 School Certificate
A bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
Certificate in occupational health and safety
Knowledge and certification in ISO Standards is an added advantage
Registration as a Health and Safety Officer.
Strong communication skills.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in this position.
Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
