Job Description

Reports to: Head of HSSEQ (Group)
Based: Lusaka (Zambia)
Requirements:-
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in related field – essential
15+ years working experience (5+ experience in QHSE, 3+ experience as trainer assessor, and experience in truck driving – specifically with synchromesh gearbox and exhaust brake controls) – essential
NEBOSH / SAMTRAC equivalent certified – preferred
Extensive knowledge of Integrated Management System | ISO 9001, 14001 & ISO 45001 – preferred
Auditing Experience of ISO 9001, 14001 & ISO 45001 – preferred
Approved Trainer Assessor – essential
Defensive Driving Experience / Certification – essential
Role responsibilities:-
Actively support and maintain the Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality standards | ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support HSSEQ
Manage HSSEQ Programs, Policies and Procedures and maintain relevant logs and documentation.
Perform HSSEQ Inspections and audits, and prepare applicable reports.
Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and the company.
Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSSEQ training.
Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as customers and regulatory agencies.
Oversee all waste management and implementation of site-specific waste management plans
Travel to other locations regularly for meetings, training, inspections, etc.
Conduct training for all drivers in accordance with the company training needs and procedures including:
PUP trailer training
Downhill driving technique training
Annual defensive driver training
