JSI seeks highly qualified and accomplished public health leaders and staff for its United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-supported District Coverage of Health Services (USAID DISCOVER-Health) Project. The USAID DISCOVER-Health project aims to improve the lives of Zambians by ensuring equitable access to and use of high-quality HIV, maternal new-born and child health (MNCH), family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) services and products at the district and community levels. The project utilizes and sustains a health model that maximizes the relative strengths of the public and private sectors to deliver health products and services that reach all beneficiaries and consumer markets.
JSI USAID DISCOVER Health Project is recruiting for the following positions:
Job Title: Information Technology Officer
Location: Lusaka Head Office
Duration: Full-time Position
Reports to: IT Specialist
Job Purpose
IT Officer is primarily responsible for the smooth running of computer systems for the Project. The IT Officer will operate as part of the Project’s IT unit and take direction from the IT Specialist, ensuring users are properly supported in a timely manner, responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
Main Responsibilities:
Individual tasks will vary depending on the needs of the organization which will include:

installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
talking staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues;
troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
replacing computer parts as required;
providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
supporting the roll-out of new software/applications;
setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.

Required Qualifications: 

Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field from a recognized College or University. Relevant IT Related Certifications will be added advantage.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience
Experience in supporting local area networks, setting up and maintaining computer hardware, computer user support
Must be able to communicate well in spoken and written English
Install and Maintain Local Area Network and Wide Area Networks and Virtual Private Networks with Knowledge of configuring and managing Logical and Physical Networks.
Ability to use MS Office Suite applications, Windows 7/8/10, Windows Server Infrastructure (With Knowledge and experience in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Virtualisation and Group Policy Objects)
Ability to work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
Able to prioritize and manage many open cases at a time;
Must rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers;
Preferred skills in database management
End-user Support
Server Administration
Network and Hardware Maintenance
