FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Summary Job Description:
The Financial Controller acts as the chief fiscal officer at a University campus. He/She will initiate, develop, administer, supervise, coordinate and evaluate major policies for fiscal management and give overall guidance to the budget, purchase, accounts, bursary, personnel, financial analysis & forecasting, financial reporting, department & program profitability, asset management, tax management, annual audits, payroll and other related administrative offices of a campus in order to provide effective, efficient educational services within the financial resources available. . The position holder will also be the primary banking contact and responsible for liability insurance oversight and negotiation
He/She will work with the President, Vice-President (DVC), Academic Deans, Directors, Faculty Heads of Departments, Board of Regents, Northrise University Initiative, and other academic administrators, and faculty to ensure that fiscal and related programs service the academic objectives of the campus. He/She will also guide the campus in translating academic and related programs into program budgets; institute effective controls and procedures for the administration of campus funds; assure efficiency and economy in accounts office operations.
Qualifications and experience
1.    Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
2.    Being a chartered accountant is a requirement
3.    Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is a plus
4.    At least five (5) years’ senior management level experience in overseeing and involvement with every financial area of a busy organization
