Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia represents the world’s most cherished trademark and invests in the most exciting events. We are inviting applications from a young ambitious and highly motivated graduates to undergo an intensive graduate training program.
The Graduate Trainee Program is designed to give the successful graduates hands-on training in Industrial Production. The candidates will be exposed to learning opportunities with an aim to build their competency, skills and knowledge in Industrial Production across various disciplines in the manufacturing department with the ultimate view of preparing them for future roles in the business based on performance. The graduate trainees will be required to undergo intensive Development programs for 18 months.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Production Management
Conduct work practice maturity assessments and ensure that the best practices are being applied correctly.
Implement and actively support the formulation of change interventions to meet operational targets.
Solve systematic problems to save costs, minimize risks and losses and to improve productivity in line with the stipulated benchmarks.
Carry out required autonomous maintenance tasks and any required running repairs in accordance with work instructions and maintenance schedules
Participate in maintenance planning meetings to highlight maintenance problems requiring attention.
Ensure that team members understand and adhere to quality standards.
Ensure handover procedures are followed
Communicate the production schedule, shift production and overall shift performance
Optimizing process performance.
Managing planned maintenance system integrity and optimal usage.
Ensuring that all team members are fully conversant with the production methodologies.
Developing and driving implementation plans to progress maturity in the Manufacturing Way principles and practices.
Cost management.
Quality
Implements KPI’s and reporting systems aligned with internal Management, CCBA and Coca-Cola Requirements. The reporting systems include Quality, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability parameters such as water usage, energy usage, plant waste and recycling).
Drive a Safety and Quality Culture though the Organizational Understanding of the systems
Ensure Product and Package Quality meets legal, internal CCBA and Coca-Cola Requirements
Ensure that all validation requirements for new processes and equipment are followed as per agreed protocols.
Initiate and Facilitate Continuous Improvement for SHEQ and Sustainability
Support the integration of SHEQ systems for the whole operation
Support the development and submission of annual business plans/costs for approval.
Ensure that Improvement processes are in place to improve water and energy usage as well as waste and recycling.
Ensure continuous improvement programs for Quality Process Capability is established.
Facilitate technical problem-solving regarding quality issues
Manufacturing Development
Improve production procedures, processes and controls.
Conduct research, design plus development of manufacturing processes inclusive of production flow, assembly procedures and production equipment.
Prepare standard costs and evaluation on multiple product lines for different facilities.
Conduct product and process analysis for quality improvement, cost reduction and enhanced efficiency.
Support operations manager to identify, install and initiate manufacturing and packaging equipment’s.

Manage immediate material availability needs
Participate in production planning meetings to highlight maintenance problems requiring attention.
Ensure that team members understand and adhere to quality standards.
Ensure handover procedures are followed
Communicate the production schedule, shift production and overall shift performance
Managing planned maintenance system integrity and optimal usage.
Ensuring that all team members are fully conversant with the manufacturing methodologies.
Developing and driving implementation plans to progress maturity in the Manufacturing Way principles and practices.
Engineering
Provide technical leadership and support to plant Packaging Engineering teams in terms of asset management strategy, framework and technology to enable the implementation of business strategies to leverage equipment, productivity, reliability and maintainability, thereby enabling high plant availability and utilization at lowest cost;
Partake in the development of the asset care plan for the packaging plant, contributing suggestions and providing expert advice.
Ensure audit compliance to the asset care program by both the Packaging Engineering team and shift based teams.
Support packaging performance improvement by conducting and leading performance optimisation initiatives.
Takes part in maintenance problem solving, and ensure that the Packaging Engineering team is applying the correct problem solving techniques.
Ensure all statutory and mandatory checks are part of the asset care management system, are performed and all documentation completed and recorded.
Skills, Experience & Education
Must have a Degree with a merit or better in either one of the following disciplines Environmental Engineering, Quality Management, Mechanical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Production Engineering or industrial Engineering
Must be a recent graduate from the University within the past 3 years (2019- 2021)
GCE O Level certificate holder with a merit in both Sciences and Mathematics
Excellent communication and team skills
Highly adaptable
Must not be more than 30 years old
Be enthusiastic and willing to learn
Strong level of analytical skills and computer literacy.
Must have excellent knowledge of the Zambian Environmental, Health and safety regulations.
Experience in FMCG is an added advantage
