JOB VACANCY:  MARKET RESEARCH AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER- TEMP (THREE MONTHS)
The Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) is a statutory body established under the repealed Securities Act, Cap. 354 of the Laws of Zambia and whose existence is continued under the Securities Act, No. 41 of 2016 to regulate and promote the orderly development of the Zambian Capital Markets. SEC is responsible for, inter alia, licensing of financial intermediaries and securities exchanges, the registration of securities such as debt and equity instruments and authorization of collective investments schemes.
The SEC seeks to recruit one (01) qualified person as Market Research and Product Development Temporal Officer for a short period of three (3) Months to enable the Commission to achieve its objectives both in terms of its overall mandate as well as its strategic objectives.
1. Job Title: Market Research and Product Development Officer
Job Purpose: Plan, implement, control, analyze and report on capital market information gathered and recommend to management new financial products.
2. Reporting: The Job holder will report to the Manager- Market Supervision
3. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Key Result Area
Principal Accountabilities (Main Duties)

i. Plan, implement, control, analyze and report on capital market information gathered
Prepare capital market analytical reports

ii. Investigation of capital market activity
Prepare investigative reports on capital markets

iii. Analysis of published data and statistics both from within and outside the Zambian capital markets
Prepare analytical reports

iv. Evaluation of past performance of financial products or services
Prepare performance reports

v.  Assessing future trends of capital market products or services
Prepare recommendations based on past performance

vi. Commissioning of capital market surveys
Implementation of planned capital market surveys

vii. Co-ordinating capital market research projects
Ensure that research projects are run according to plan

viii. Assisting the Manager Market Development in planning and organizing all product development activities
Ensure adherence to product development plans

ix. To conduct capital market research and analysis to identify business needs and opportunities
Recommend to management based on the research conducted

x. Assist with duties as may be assigned by management
Provide any other information requested for by management on a timely basis.

5. Qualifications
Minimum Academic/Professional Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Economics, Management, IT, Statistics or equivalent from a relevant field.
