JOB OPPORTUNITIES
The Council of Mulungushi University as an equal opportunity employer, is inviting qualified and sufficiently motivated individuals to apply for the following positions in the University: –
1.0 SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (1 position)
Job purpose: To effectively and efficiently plan, organize and control the activities of the project members during design, development and implementation of computer applications/operating system software to ensure provision of quality service to users.
Qualifications:
1. Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 Credits or better that must include English Language and Mathematics
2. Must have a minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology Degree
3. Must have a minimum of three (03) years practical and relevant work experience.
4. Must have demonstrable hands-on experience with database design and administration (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
5. Must have experience with mobile application development (Android/IOS
6. Experience in PHP, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Net Platform
7. Must have experience with version control systems (SVN, CBS, Git, etc.)
8. Must have experience with Linux as well as Windows Systems
9. Must be a fast learner.
10. Must have high levels of integrity.
2.0 ASSISTANT SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (1 position)
Job purpose: To work under the supervision of the Software Developer and ensure that the design, development and implementation of computer applications/operating system software are provided to service end-users in the University.
Qualifications:
1. Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 Credits or better that must include English Language and Mathematics
2. Must have a minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in IT related field
3. Must have at least 1 year practical experience in similar functions or as a consultant providing services similar to the Function
4. Starting software developer with a proven track record
5. Hands on experience with database design and administration (MSSQL. MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc)
6. Experience in PHP, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
7. Must have experience with version control systems (SVN, CVS, Git, etc)
8. Experience with Linux/Unix as well as Windows systems
9. Required to be a fast learner
3.0 LECTURER IN PHYSICS (1 position)
Main duties: To teach, conduct research and carry out academic related responsibilities.
Qualifications:
1. Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 Credits or better that must include English Language and Mathematics
2. An earned BSc or BSc. Ed degree in Physics with at least a Merit from a reputable and accredited University
3. An earned MSc Degree in Physics from a reputable University and accredited University.
4. A PhD in Physics will be an added advantage.
5. Functional computer skills
6. Demonstrated ability to conduct research and to publish.
7. A full paid- up member of a relevant professional body with a valid practicing license
8. Teaching experience at university level will be an added advantage.
