ARTISAN MECHANIC – HEAVY EQUIPMENT REPAIR (HER)

Job Purpose:
The Incumbent will be required to safely execute fleet maintenance work according to the prescribed
standards while ensuring the safety of self and others.
Job Responsibilities:
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

Diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems with and without using provided Electronic

Scanners/Diagnostic tools.

Repairing and servicing all heavy equipment products within the established standards.
Completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, and replacing filters.
Lubricating equipment in accordance with established procedures and charts.
Keeping equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles.
Maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints.
Completing work order closure sheets
Replacing parts and components.
Maintaining vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
Checking fan belts, hoses, wiper blades, radiators and batteries, and other safety equipment
Verifying vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives.
Maintaining excellent customer relations through frequent communication.
Preparing accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner.
Complying with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control

Be actively involved in daily housekeeping
Any Other Duties, as per instruction from Direct Line Supervisor.

ARTISAN – MECHANIC LV (LIGHT VEHICLE)

Job Purpose:
The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

Carry out planned maintenance jobs as per OEM Standard and work order completion.
Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive

maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, and replacing filters and other repairs

Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication.
Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner.
Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using provided Electronic Scanners/Diagnostic tools.

ARTISAN – BOILERMAKER

Job Purpose:
The position exists an Artisan Boiler Maker for the Fabrication workshop at Central workshops.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

Fabrication of structural steel work and pipe work.
Weld using multiple processes to a high standard.
Be able to take Actuate measurements and Fabricate from them.
Be able to operate Forklift truck safely.
Lift and move materials safely.
Operate Fabrication equipment – Break Press – Guillotine – Sheet metal rollers – profile cutters.
Any other tasks as may be delegated upon by the supervisor.

Job Specific Competencies:

Be able to weld using SMAW (MMA) & GMAW (MIG MAG).
How to work safely and maintain good housekeeping.
Able to read fabrication drawings and their weld symbols.
Produce work in the allocated time slot.
How to develop out components & pipework from fabrication drawings.
Able to use Oxygen & Acetylene cutting, Plasma cutting and air arc gouging.
Have a knowledge of material handling.

Qualifications and Experience required:
The job will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:

Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
A Crafts certificate or its Equivalent;
Have a min of one weld coding in either SMAW (MMA) or GMAW in the 5G position in accordance with AWS D1.1, AWS D14.3 or AS/NZS 1554 part 1
Member of EIZ.
Minimum of 3 years welding and boiler making industry.
Hold relevant artisan certification in fabrication/welding.

TECHNICIAN – HV ELECTRICIAN

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Electrical Shift Supervisor, the holder of this position is responsible for assisting in
implementation of preventive and responsive electrical maintenance of Shovels/Excavators, Mining Trucks & Drills Rigs in the mining area, to ensure maximum operational performance and reliability of the equipment is achieved in a safe and cost effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements, consent conditions and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
Specific Job Responsibility

Adhere to the company’s planned and preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times
Report all safety incidents immediately to the Supervisor.
Maintain the correct and safe usage of all hand tools and company property within your section
Attend all scheduled trainings without fail
Report all defective tools.

Any other duties as directed by the Electrical Shift Supervisor.

Knowledge / experience in Electric / Diesel Mining equipment (Trucks, Shovels, Excavators, Drills)
Good knowledge on the use of electrical tools such as Insulation Resistance Testers (Megger),
Multimeters, Battery Load Testers, Windaq, Voltage Testers eg Manox, Spanners, Screw Drivers, DC Light Testers- Auto Electrical and, Bearing Pullers etc.
Computer literate.

Electrical HV Craft Certificate
Electrical HV Diploma is an added advantage
Electrical HV Switching Certificate is an added Advantage

TECHNICIAN – HEATING VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC)

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Electrical Shift Supervisor, the position is responsible for assisting in implementation of preventive and responsive electrical maintenance of air conditioning systems in the mining area –Mobile equipment, to ensure maximum operational performance is achieved in a safe and cost effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements and consent conditions.
Specific Job Responsibility

Adhere to the company’s planned and preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
Respond to unplanned breakdowns when on duty timeously.
Effectively maintain the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment for improved overall equipment effectiveness.
Report all safety incidents immediately to the Supervisor.
Maintain the correct and safe usage of all hand tools and company property within your section. Report all defective tools, record and control all replacement of tools.
Any other duties as directed by the Electrical Shift Supervisor.

TECHNICAL ADVISOR – LIEBHERR TRUCKS

Job Purpose
Carry out predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance activities on Mobile Equipment Mining Trucks Electrical Systems to meet targeted Mechanical, Physical & Cost KPIs in order to achieve set Production Targets implementing laid down Safety & Environmental policies.
Specific Job Responsibility
Key Accountabilities

Condition Monitoring: Ability to timeously and accurately detect changes in equipment health, operation and application severity in support of a repair before failure maintenance strategy.
Human Resources Training, Coaching & Mentoring: The ability to train, coach & mentor

technicians to conduct maintenance activities safely, competently & timeously in order to meet business needs & requirements.

Parts Management: Timeously audit parts availability; parts upgrades & alternative parts

replacement requirements across the Mobile Trucks fleet.

Repair Management: The ability to assist Technicians to carry out planned and unplanned

maintenance activities.

Backlog management: Ability to generate or identify tasks that cannot be completed on the required by date & advise execution times and priorities of the pending workload/ backlogs.
Component Management: Ability to determine the expected life cycle of a component & advise planners to design a major change out or repair strategy before a failure.

Respond to unplanned breakdowns when on duty timeously.
Effectively maintain and repair electrical systems on diesel propelled mining equipment.

Job Purpose
