Job Description

Bantu Recruitment Agency is looking for the following on behalf of their client:
1. Gearbox Fitter Specialist
Role

Assembling machines and equipment with precision and expertise
Using advanced measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and fit of metal parts.
Operating equipment safely and efficiently
Diagnosing faults and executing full strip, assess, and reporting procedures.
Working autonomously with confidence, particularly in handling gearboxes
Applying your minimum 5 years of stripping and rebuilding experience

Qualifications

Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Gearbox Fitter
Demonstrating proven expertise in mining fixed plant equipment within a workshop environment.
A strong commitment to HSE and QA as a priority, and the ability to work unsupervised and function well within a team environment.
Hydraulic experience would be advantageous.
Forklift licence (preferred but not essential).

2. Mechanical Fitter – Crusher Experience
Role

Carrying out strip and assess and inspections on crushers and crusher assemblies.
Identifying parts for replacement repairs and completing reports.
Preparing parts for inspection and assembly.
Rebuilding crusher components, assemblies and full crusher rebuilds.
Test running rebuild assemblies.

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Previous crusher repair / fitting experience preferred.
Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering – Fitting or Fitting and Turning.
Preferred 5 years post trade qualification experience.
High risk license to operate forklifts.
Dogman and or Rigger’s ticket to use overhead cranes (range up to 50 ton) would be an advantage.
Ability to measure items and complete reports as required.
Ability to work in a team to achieve results.

3. Manual Machinist
Role

Operating machines to mill, cut, grind, bore, drill and plane to form various metal stock and castings to fine tolerances.
Visually check measuring equipment and report any equipment requiring repair or recalibration.
Report all malfunctions or damaged equipment.

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualification

Trade certificate in relevant trade.
Knowledge of machine shop practices.
Experience with Horizontal Borers, Milling Machines and Centre Lathes.
Motivated individual with good work ethic.

4. Welding Supervisor
Role

Produce and issue welding procedures and conduct welding qualifications tests.
Liaise with inspection and N.D.T. personnel where applicable, to organise required inspections and tests.
Able to maintain full understanding of, and ensure compliance with, all relevant management.
Liaise with clients in relation to manufacturing on repaired in terms of engineering specifications, standards and manufacturing requirements to ensure that all technical issues and challenges are understood by the company.
Review, as required, progress of jobs against estimated labour and material requirements.
Comply with QA/QC procedures and maintain production documents
Review, as required, the product being manufactured against engineering specifications.
Ensure that company and statutory safe working requirements are met at all times.

Qualification

Fabrication/Welding trade background.
Able to read isometric and structural drawings.
Able to engage with internal and external stakeholders on all levels.
Prior experience and knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing.
Prior experience and knowledge of industry cocompliances.

5. Panel Beaters
Position Purpose:
To undertake quality workmanship to ensure vehicles are returned to their pre-accident condition, in a safe and efficient manner which will ensure customer satisfaction.
Role:

Follow all safety policies and procedures. Ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
Immediately report any safety incident or near miss to either the Production Manager or Centre Manager
Clock on and off each day to reflect attendance and ensure always clocked onto a job or task
If required receive parts – check correct and not damaged
Disassemble vehicle as per Job Sheet
Label parts and store accordingly (5s)
Notate broken parts/extra repairs and submit to Estimator. Ensure authorised before proceeding with additional work
Double check new parts are correct and not damaged. If not, advise Parts Manager/Production Manager
Repair vehicle as per the Repair Method and in accordance with Estimate/Job Sheet
If required, prep vehicle as per Job Sheet requirements following paint supplier’s SOP
If required, prime vehicle as per Job Sheet requirements following paint supplier’s SOP
Reassemble vehicle as per Job Sheet
Handle all vehicles with due care and attention.
Ensure appropriate usage of consumables and materials are used to avoid wastage.
Ensure your work complies with AMA’s QA standards and sign the QA Sheet to confirm you have checked your work and it meets AMA standards.
As required clean workbay/workshop
Handle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention ensuring they remain safe, clean and in a workable condition.
Coach apprentice (if assigned as a coach)
Undertake all lawful and reasonable requests by management.

Qualifications:

Trade certificate (qualified Panel Beater)
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Excellent communication skills
A willingness to learn
A strong work ethic
An attention to detail
Able to work effectively and collaboratively with the team
Be reliable, punctual & hardworking

Physical Demands of the job:

Constant, repetitive hand function and grip
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, forward bent posture, forward reach, squatting, kneeling, static neck postures, trunk twisting, waist to shoulder lifting up to 5 kg, and carrying up to 5 kg
Occasional lying, overhead reach, crawling and foot movement, floor to waist lifting up to 26 kg, waist to shoulder lifting up to 10kg, overhead lifting up to 8 kg, carrying up to 26 kg, pushing and pulling
Rare dynamic neck movement, step climbing and other climbing, floor to waist lifting up to 100 kg (3-person lift), overhead lifting up to 10 kg and carrying up to 100 kg (3-person lift)
