JOB OPENINGS
Mabiza Resources Limited (“Mabiza”) operates the Munali Nickel Mine (“Munali”), which is in the Mazabuka District, 75kms south of Lusaka, Zambia. Mabiza is a wholly owned entity of Consolidated Nickel Mines Ltd.
The Mine is a modern, world-class facility with fully mechanized underground operations. To support this vision. Mabiza is seeking the services of an experienced and qualified individual to take up the position of:
1.     Role: Long-Hole Quality Controller X 1 (Mine Technical)
Reporting: Mine Planning Engineer  
Job Purpose:    Undertake all quality control management activities to facilitate continuous production throughout the miming process. Ensures work quality is up to standard to ascertain the safety and well-being of all personnel assets.
Responsibilities: –

Ensuring work is done to the given specifications and to the adopted standards.
Employ SOPs and SWPs are made available and well understood.
Ensuring work area checklist and inspections are conducted.
Understand fully nature of work as given by supervisor.
Conducting QA/QC of Long-hole Drilling and Blasting works.
Providing information to the technical team on ongoing underground works.
Implementing the drilling and charging plans underground and advising on alternative cost-effective approaches to works.
Assisting in software designs and mine planning
Ensure using of correct PPE and right tools for the jobs.
Lead by example and ensure excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage employees and building a strong reliability team.
Conducting cost and time analyses related to various jobs to be worked.
Work to identify cost improvements or reduction areas.
Deducing Cost saving measures.
Ensuring communication with supervisor for any operational needs.
Feedback for proper completion of works before demobilizing.
Ensuring communication with line-up supervisor for materials, machines and equipment needs.

Skills & Qualifications: –
Grade 12 school certificate
Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering
Experience in working in mechanised & non-mechanised mining operations.
Minimum 2 years work experience in Mining operations
Holder of the Zambian Mine Blasting Licence for all operations
Knowledge in Mine Planning software.
Member of EIZ
First Aid Certificate added advantage.

2. Role: Instrumentation Technician X 1
Reporting: Foreman Electrical/Instrumentation
Job Purpose:  To execute Instrumentation /Electrical jobs.
Responsibilities

Adherence to safety requirements in the work area and being aware of all workplace rules and critical procedures applied at Munali Nickel Mine.
Carry out jobs according to safety, health and environmental standards on site;
Follow safety, health and environmental principles and procedures in a workplace.
Use correct equipment and tools on all work assignments;
undertake preventive maintenance on equipment to curtail losses;
planning, coordinating and providing required guidance to the team members to avoid reworks;
adherence to work schedules and task lists for the various work activities to avoid process down time;
facilitating and coordinating installations, commissioning, maintenance and repairs of equipment;
undertaking predictive and preventive work activities;
ensuring execution of work activities in line with the work schedule and/or shutdown schedules to minimise any unplanned work requirements.
Planning and executing equipment improvement projects.
compiling Instrumentation work reports and providing feedback on assignments;
ensuring maintenance of a database of equipment monitoring;
engaging stakeholders and ensure reduced Instrument equipment failure rates.

Managing the workshop to ensure that all Instrumentation equipment and tooling are procured, maintained and calibrated as planned.

Assessing of operational, technical challenges and their impact on operations.
Prioritizing activities and delegate for feedback.

Skills & Qualifications: –
Grade 12 School Certificate;
Instrumentation Technician Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma/University Degree;
A Minimum of 3 – 4 years in the Instrumentation Field;
2 years in the Mining Industry;
Competency in use of computer software;
Full member of EIZ.
People Management skills
Analytical skills
Strong Decision-Making abilities;
Technically competent;
Conversant with allan badly PLC
Conversant with ladder logic control
Able to upload and download programs
Experience with CITEC Scanda programing
Should have knowledge of high pressure filter machine ( Larox) both instrumentation and control
