Newrest Zambia Limited specialized in inflight catering has been engaged by KoBold Metals Zambia Ltd to provide catering and housekeeping services. In this light, applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant positions based in Chililabombwe.

Sous Chef
Key Responsibilities

Assists the Head Chef in developing and standardizing new recipes.
Assists the Head Chef in the areas of food festivals, menu planning and pricing.
Works closely with the purchasing officer for developing standard purchase specifications for various items.
Ensures regular monitoring of clients’ feedback, prompt, efficient and accurate service to all customers along with the best quality products.
Stays informed about the new developments in the world of cuisine, cooking techniques, kitchen equipment etc.
Ensures that the kitchen is properly staffed and assists in supervising, training and monitoring of kitchen staff.
Demonstrates proper usage of kitchen equipment and correct cooking techniques to kitchen staff.
Ensures that all kitchen staff follows sanitation rules and regulations as well as safety standards.
Undertakes any other relevant tasks assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 School Certificate
Diploma in Food Production
Minimum three (3) years similar experience

CHEF
Key Responsibilities

Prepares high quality, nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) according to client scheduling and within the menu plan and budget guidelines of the Company;
Manages Kitchen Staff in food preparation;
Ensures CCP controls (cooking and chilling) are monitored accurately and records are filled accordingly;
Ensures Blast Chiller and holding fridge are in good working conditions at all times and advise Maintenance in case of any faults.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 School Certificate
Certificate in Food Production
Minimum two (2) years similar experience

HOUSEKEEPER

Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the campsite, including accommodation units, dining areas, restrooms, and common areas.
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces regularly to ensure a safe and healthy environment for occupants.
Ensuring that laundry facilities are properly maintained and stocked with necessary supplies.
Preparing accommodation units for new arrivals by making beds, replenishing amenities, and ensuring that rooms are clean and welcoming.
Conducting routine inspections of rooms to identify any maintenance issues or repairs needed and reporting them to the appropriate personnel.
Properly disposing of garbage, recycling, and hazardous materials according to campsite policies and environmental regulations.
Providing friendly and courteous service to campsite residents and addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 School Certificate
Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial work, preferably in a similar remote or industrial setting.
Good communication skills are necessary for interacting with camp residents and other staff members, as well as for following instructions and reporting any issues or concerns.
