DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Measure clients’ bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices.
Fitting the prescribed lenses to the selected frames.
Verifying that finished lenses are ground to specifications.
Preparing work orders and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses.
Assisting clients in selecting frames according to style and color, and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
Maintaining records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.
Performing administrative duties such as tracking inventory and sales, and performing simple bookkeeping.
Ensuring that monthly optical sales targets are achieved.
Any other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Diploma or better in Opticianry.
 Valid practicing license.
 Work experience will be an added advantage.
