Role Purpose
The role is responsible for coordinating seed processing activities at the plant including developing daily processing plans, planning for production resources such as consumables and shift teams, supervision of shifts and shift change overs, supervising the handling of both raw materials and finished products, ensuring compliance to quality control and assurance standards, and leading the implementation and adherence to environmental and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
// Planning daily plant processing activities in line with the production output goals.
// Planning for and ensuring availability of production resources including shift teams and production materials such as raw seeds, treatment chemicals, and packaging materials.
// Coordinate and collaborate closely with the warehousing teams to ensure appropriate handling and storage of production raw materials and finished goods, and accuracy in stock records.
// Ensure adherence with all applicable internal production standards and policies including environment, safety, health, and quality assurance standards, in collaboration with the ESH and Quality teams.
// Participate in and support all major plant planning processes including seasonal plant production planning, activity scheduling, budgeting, maintenance planning and execution, and review quality and safety standards.
// In tolling sites, collaborate with the Toller representative to ensure adoption of Bayer’s compliance policies and standards across the site, and delivery of agreed production volumes.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
// A degree in production management, mechanical engineering and agricultural engineering OR A diploma in production management, mechanical engineering and Agricultural Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience in plant operations management.
// An additional master’s degree in business is an advantage
// Solid knowledge of plant seed processing.
// Strong analytical and problem solving skills
// Ability to work with complex data for decision making
// Excellent networking and collaborating skills
// Strong people leadership skills
// Results orientation
