Job Description

The Centre for the Promotion of Literacy in Sub-Saharan Africa of the University of Zambia will be conducting an ENDLINE survey on Early Childhood Education using the International Development and Early Learning Assessment tool (IDELA) and the Measure of Early Learning Environments (MELE) as sub- contracted by DEVTECH/EDC, in two target provinces; Western and Eastern. Data collection for both IDELA and MELE is planned for January to February 2022.
CAPOLSA now seeks applications from eligible and available Zambian nationals to participate in the Endline evaluation as i) Quality Control Officers (6) and iii) Assessors (12).
1. Quality Control Officers (QCO)/Supervisors (Western Province [3 candidates] & Eastern Province [3 candidates])
DUTIES

To provide quality control of the data collected by the assessors during IDELA and MELE data collection exercise; manage assessors and ensure that all data collected adheres to minimum standards.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

Grade 12 School Certificate
First Degree in Social Sciences or relevant field. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, and data management.
Experience working with children or conducting data collection with children.
MUST display the ability to create rapport with children.
Experience administering the IDELA and MELE is an added advantage.
Strong command of siLozi for positions in Western province and ciNyanja/ciChewa languages for position in Eastern province.
Must be amenable to instruction.
Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Assessors (Western Province [6 candidates] & Eastern Province [6 candidates])
DUTIES

Administer IDELA and MELE data collection tools.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

Minimum Diploma or Higher Diploma in social sciences or ac relevant field. Degree will be an added advantage.
2 – 3 years’ experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, and data management.
Experience working with children or conducting data collection on children.
MUST display the ability to create rapport with children.
Experience administering the IDELA and MELE is an added advantage.
Excellent command of siLozi for positions in Western province and ciNyanja/ciChewa languages for position in Eastern province.
Must be amenable to instruction.
