Job Description

The records intern will provide support to the records manager and the credit and admin department by maintaining the database and inventory of records, dealing with enquiries and requests for information, retrieving inactive files and other records. The individual must be detail oriented, have an understanding of records management and filing.
Duties and Responsibilities
The records intern will be expected to carry out the following duties:

Assist with scanning, classifying and indexing records in line with the approved standards
Maintaining the database and inventory of records
Dealing with enquiries and requests for information
Retrieving inactive files and other records
Ensuring that data is properly secured
Ensuring records are filed accordingly; file covers are in good state and replacing old covers with the new ones
Sort and file scattered records
Conduct audits to ensure records are updated and minimize information gaps
Assist with all other duties assigned


Minimum Grade 12 certificate
Able to work under pressure
Experience in record keeping will be added advantage


Attention to detail and well organized
Effective time management skills under pressure in response to needs or changing demands.
Good record keeping skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
