Job Title: Sales and Distribution Supervisor
Department: Marketing and Sales
Reports to: Head – Marketing and Sales
Employment Status: Contract
Performs timely distribution and a variety of sales and customer support services for products. Maintains pleasant and effective public relations with customers and others requiring a general familiarity with SMCL products.
Key role in providing excellent customer service and growing company revenue. Responsible for supervising and coordinating the schedules of the sales and distribution teams daily work to meet and exceed sales quotas.

3+ years of experience in a marketing department, preferably in the milling industry and similar capacity
Minimum Diploma in Marketing/Business Administration/ Supply Chain Management or related field.
Degree in Business Administration/Marketing/Supply Chain Management or related field is an added advantage.


Assist the Head – Sales and Marketing in achieving sales goals and objectives, by planning, implementing and revising sales and marketing strategies related to all product ranges and by directing and motivating the sales team.
Implement a local and international sales and distribution plan for all products
Assign regions and leads, set attainable objectives by forecasting quotas, and help sales representatives improve their performance.
Organize and coordinate mobile sales representatives’ schedules
Meet all sales quotas
Track weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
Supervise the sales and distribution team
Assist mobile sales representatives and team to meet and exceed goals
Organise trucks for mobile sales per required route.
Assist the Head – Sales and Marketing with customer care through communication to the team concerning procedures, training and written records.
Understand customer needs and offer solutions and support
Research potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources
Receive and report on all sales leads
Build new client relationships offering the companies branded product range and approve terms of business
Maintain a record of customer satisfaction in accordance with company policy. This will require the routine handling of customer concerns and issues and providing sales representatives and support staff with the necessary tools and knowledge to address these problems.
Answer potential customer questions and follow-up call questions
Generate a weekly performance report and submit to the Head-Marketing and Sales
Review sales and create a monthly target, aiming to increase the sales.
Keep track of inventory by developing inventory strategies for existing and new items, aiming to minimize the returns.
Manage warehouse activities.
Exercise control over discounts for certain customers, price changes, deals, promotions, etc.
Ensure the products are fully paid for by cash customers before cash sale invoices are generated
Prepares daily cash sales reports and reconciles cash drawer.
Schedules reconciliations with the Accounting Department.
Coordinate logistics, transportation, and distribution of maize products in the different outlets i.e. Depots, Supermarkets, Mobile Sales, Agents, Intra group etc.
Raising sales orders, delivery notes and loading orders
Receive and execute orders and distribution plan from the Head-Marketing and Sales
Receive and execute orders from customers and confirm with the Head-Marketing and Sales
Supervise document preparations for transfer to other departments/shipping.
Raise and issue loading orders and gate passes for vehicles coming to load the products
Issue loading orders to the checker at the loading bay
Pass the authorised and approved orders to invoicing clerk when loading is done
Conduct a proof of delivery check-up if the product was not on self-collection
Check progress periodically at the loading bay to speed up the loading process
Supervise outbound deliveries to ensure accuracy.
Monitors and tracks the progress of deliveries.
Ensures products for delivery are routed to the appropriate clients.
Attend local trade shows and exhibitions – working with the marketing team on new product launches and variety of other market communications initiatives
Ensures employee compliance to protocols and standards.
Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
Handle any other duties as assigned by the Head – Sales and Marketing
