Sales and Marketing Manager

Superior Milling Company Limited (SMCL) is looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager
This is a Senior Position within the SMCL structure responsible for managing the company’s sales and marketing initiatives through market research, market analysis, marketing strategy and marketing planning.
This will be achieved through:

Establishing position, identifying target markets and developing marketing plans with specific objectives for different distribution channels and segments
Meeting consumer needs
Managing marketing budgets and maximise sales
Managing internal marketing and sales team
Gathering customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversations and generate more qualified leads

Reporting to the General Manager the successful candidate must have the following competencies:

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
Understanding and knowledge of sales and marketing.
Ability to apply marketing tactics in dynamic situations.
Knowledge of data analysis and reporting.
Presentable personality, goal oriented and a team player.
Ability to work under pressure with willingness to take business travel.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducting market research/marketing intelligence
Prepare and manage sales and marketing plan and budget
Meeting or exceeding sales goals by generating sales leads
Analysing the territory and market potential in neighbouring countries
Continually assess marketing techniques and their efficacy in effecting sales.
Negotiate all contracts with prospective clients.
Play a role in determining pricing schedules for quotes, promotion and negotiations
Give sales presentations to a range of prospective clients
Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs
Prepare schedule for customer visits and meetings to build loyalty and increase sales
Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products
Maintaining client records and databases
In collaboration with the team manage all the sales channels – Retail, Wholesale, Depots, Mobile Sales etc.
Manage product return processes and procedures.
Manage price changes and facilitate passing of Debit Notes and Credit Notes
Prepare and submit monthly reports.
Handle any other duties as assigned by the General Manager

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

5+ years of experience in a sales and marketing department, preferably in the milling industry and similar capacity.
Minimum Degree in Marketing/Business Administration or related field.
Master’s Degree in Marketing or Business related field is an added advantage.
Must be a member of Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM).
