Job title: Sales and Marketing Officer
Reporting to: Director
Location: Remote working
Company Description: Kumalo Kwathu is a product of Mayani Agro limited. It is an online travel booking platform based in Zambia, catering to both local and international users. It provides comprehensive solutions for all travel needs, including accommodation booking, car hire services, tour arrangements, and booking Events. The platform aims to enhance travelers convinience, support local businesses, and enhance the overall travel experience through a convenient, user-friendly interface and personalized services.
Job Purpose: As the Sales and Marketing Officer at Kumalo Kwathu, your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to promote the company’s products and services. The role involves a combination of face-to-face interactions with clients and digital marketing, as well as providing support to the web developers for basic website improvements.
Key Responsibilities:

Client Onboarding: Engage hotels, lodges, restaurants, car hires, events, and travel agencies for onboarding onto the website. Provide after-service support to clients to ensure they fully benefit from the website’s features.
Website: Collaborate with web developers and designers to implement improvements and track website performance of content against clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Social Media: Support company activity across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms to expand the social media audience base. Write engaging content for various audiences that aligns with brand guidelines.
Advertising: Advertise the Kumalo Kwathu website on other platforms to increase brand awareness and attract more users.
Email Marketing: Plan and manage a regular schedule of email marketing activities, grow the subscriber base, and create engaging, relevant content, including conducting tests to optimize results.
Prepare and Manage Contracts and MOUs with Clients: Design and manage client MOUs regarding listing, usage, and benefits from using the website.
Reporting: Provide periodic reports to supervisors and the director on agreed KPIs.
Other: Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices and undertake any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.

Qualifications and experience

Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 2 year’s work experience in sales, client onboarding and client engagement. Experience in Hospitality industry is an added advantage.
Experience in Social media marketing is an added advantage.
Knowledge of marketing principles and brand management.

Skills

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and   communication skills.
Strong writing skills, proof reading and editorial skills with a good eye for detail.
Strong ICT skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects at the same  time.
Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Ability to deliver on assigned tasks in remote work setting.

Remuneration

Commission based job with facilitation of logistics.
