Sales Manager – Automotive

Lusaka, Full Time Salary:

A Multinational Automotive Dealership company is looking for an experienced Sales Manager with a commercial used vehicle background to lead and manage the team to achieve profitability targets, maximize sales while managing profitability and margins.
Reporting To: Dotted line between the Auto head and the General Manager
Supervision Of: Parts Team and Sales Team
Interacts With: Suppliers, Management, key stakeholders
Meet Monthly, Quarterly and Annual sales targets in Revenue and unit numbers
Ensure the parts team works closely with colleagues in service, sales and administration to deliver outstanding customer service
Establishes and monitors the team’s training requirements to ensure the required level of skill and expertise is available
Ensures the Sales team have full knowledge and understanding of product, promotional and marketing activities. Ensures team display all advertising and point of sale literature as directed by the manufacturer
Select and appoint new team members including apprentices and ensure they are equipped with the required skills and training
Manage the day to day operations of the parts department to ensure the achievement of key targets
Maintain agreed profit margins and return on investment by selling the maximum amount of parts to trade and retail customers
Maintain an efficient parts service to other departments within the dealership
Analyse sales data to place emphasis on selling the most profitable lines
Monitor customer activity and amends discounts where necessary
Monitor customer credit and ensures action is taken to recover due payments
Implement systems to monitor and record lost sales, reviews data and takes appropriate action
Maintain stock levels, purchasing within agreed budgets
Control and meet budgetary spending targets, discussing significant variations with the relevant managers/dealer principal
Monitor stock overheads and stock values, reporting any which exceed the budget to the dealer principal
Experience: 7 years
Education Level: Degree
Qualifications: Sales and Marketing, Auto mechanics or related
Software: MS Office
Equipment: Job related
Knowledge Of: The automotive landscape and market penetration strategies
