Overview:
We are in search of a detail-oriented and experienced Tax and Payroll Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of tax laws, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong grasp of payroll processes. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance, processing payroll, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
Responsibilities:
1.    Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
2.    Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure the company’s tax strategies and practices are current and effective.
3.    Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data needed for tax calculations and reporting.
4.    Process payroll accurately and on time, including calculating wages, bonuses, and deductions, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
5.    Maintain accurate payroll records and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise.
6.    Reconcile payroll and tax-related accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
7.    Provide assistance during external audits related to tax or payroll matters.
8.    Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements as required.
9.    Stay informed about industry best practices and propose process improvements for tax and payroll functions.
Qualifications:
1.    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2.    Proven experience as a Tax Accountant and/or Payroll Accountant.
3.    Strong understanding of tax regulations, payroll processes, and labor laws.
4.    Proficiency in using accounting software and payroll systems.
5.    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6.    Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
7.    Effective communication and teamwork skills.
8.    Ability to work under deadlines and handle confidential information.
