Job Description

THET works to contribute to strengthening local (national) health systems and building a healthier future by working through partnerships between United Kingdom (UK) and Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) health institutions to strengthen the health workforce and the system within which the workforce operates. We are a global health organisation that has been managing donor funds to deliver Health System Strengthening (HSS) and Human Resources for Health (HRH) programmes for over 30 years towards a world where everyone, everywhere has access to quality healthcare.
We run capacity development programmes for health workers and health system in Ethiopia, Myanmar, Somalia/Somaliland, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia in which we work closely with Ministries of Health to ensure our programmes respond to local needs and priorities, as well as achieve sustainable impact. With a presence in 10 countries across East Africa, West Africa and South Asia, we are able to connect with key stakeholders across regions, provide access to broad-based information on the ground as well as learning and sharing. Over the past ten years THET, has partnered with over 130 NHS Trusts, Royal Colleges and academic institutions to train over 100,000 health workers in 31 LMICs across Africa and Asia. We work closely with the British Government; and we are an organisation in Official Relations with the World Health Organization (WHO).
THET has been working in Zambia since 2009, focusing on a number of the country’s urgent health needs. The organisation has been focusing on quality improvement, and strengthening the medical and health education available to health care professionals. Our work in Zambia has included working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health to develop Master of Medicine degree programmes in Anaesthesia, Pathology and Psychiatry; developing the first BSc and MSc in Human Nutrition available in Zambia, and the first pre-service training programme at NORTEC for Biomedical Engineering Technologists (BMETs) – medical equipment maintenance professionals.

Tendering/Bidding Method
Simplified tendering method will be followed. Due to the urgency of the procurement, notification time is limited. Therefore, while THET may publicise the invitation to bid, the organization reserves the right to directly invite potential suppliers.
Eligibility
Only reputable computer IT companies meeting the following criteria will be considered:
(i) Established outlets (wholesale and/or retail) in Zambia;
(ii) Tax compliance with TPIN and valid tax certificate;
(iii) Track record of supplying quality computers, and with reputable clientele
Delivery Time-frame
The successful bidder(s) is/are expected to deliver the laptops and mifis as specified, by 14:00 on Wednesday 16th June 2021.
Warranty and Payment Terms
Three-month warranty. Test within one week after delivery. Payment terms: 90% at acceptance upon delivery and 10% after end of warranty period.

The bid/application should comprise a brief write-up and the actual quotation itself, as follows:
(i) Brief profile of the company, outlining the business focus, business location and coverage, major
clients, average annual turnover, TPIN Number and copy of the ta certificate;
(ii) Bankers and bank account details (to facilitate efficiency in payment should the bid be
successful);
(iii) The Actual Quotation/bid clearly outlining cost per item, tax, warranty, terms and conditions,
delivery time-frame.
Note: if the company is unable to supply and deliver all the 33 laptops by 16th June 2021, they should specify what they can supply and deliver by the said date.
