Job Description: Graphic Design Volunteer Reports to Editor-in-Chief or Deputy Editor Responsibilities: The Graphic Design Volunteer will design content for marketing, branding, and social media campaigns. Will conceptualize, design, and create mock-ups from small enhancements to entirely new designs. Projects will range from designing social media graphics to participating in large projects to market Social Work Helper. This may include logos, direct mail pieces, branded promotional items, website and social media graphics, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials as needed.Work closely with the executive staff to translate messaging concepts into marketing materials. Must have the ability to work independently and in partnership with a team. Must possess the ability to define and work on deadlines. Applicants will also need to be self-directed and willing to take initiative as well as detail-oriented, respect and maintain the confidentiality of Social Work Helper, and possess an enthusiasm for the mission of the organization and/or photography. QualificationsMUST have a Personal Computer.Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field is a plus BUT NOT MANDATORY. 3-5 years of experience in graphic design.Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web.Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred.Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, (knowledge of InDesign, and other graphic design software will be an added advantage. Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects.Strong analytical skills.Excellent eye for detail.
